Knight Signs Extension Through 2012: Texas Tech coach Bobby Knight signed a three-year extension Oct. 19 that will keep him in Lubbock through 2012. Knight, third on the all-time wins list behind Dean Smith and Adolph Rupp, is expected to end the season at the top of that list. He is 10 behind Smith and seven behind Rupp.
“When I was 37, I told a reporter I didn’t think I’d coach until I’m 40,” Knight said. “Well, I’m 65, and either I’m not smart enough to do something else or I like what I’m doing. Hopefully, I’m the latter.”
