Eagles Suspend Pair: Boston College suspended juniors Sean Williams and Akida McLain for a violation of team rules prior to Sunday’s exhibition game against St. Francis Xavier. Both were on the bench in street clothes during the game. Williams will miss the first two regular season games, while McLain will miss at least the first nine. McLain’s could end right after the first semester, which could mean that academics are the reason for his suspension. It certainly hurts the frontcourt of the Eagles, as both are expected to play key roles this season. Williams ranked third in the ACC in blocked shots last season, while McLain figured to be in the mix to start. The Eagles open their season on Friday against New Hampshire. [11/05/06]
