Syracuse’s New Practice Facility Will Be on Melo: Former Syracuse star and current Denver Nugget Carmelo Anthony has pledged $3 million to the university for a new practice facility. The building will feature two practice courts, locker rooms for the men’s and women’s team, and administrative offices. Coach Jim Boeheim and Syracuse Athletic Director Daryl Gross came to Denver to accompany Anthony has he announced the contribution at the Pepsi Center, the Nuggets’ home. Anthony averaged 22.2 points and 10 rebounds per game in his one season with the Orange. And oh yeah, he led the team to Boeheim’s first championship in that one season. [11/08/06]
