Rebels Retire Anthony’s No. 50: UNLV honored former Rebel point guard Greg Anthony during Wednesday’s exhibition game vs. Dixie State College by retiring his No. 50 jersey. Anthony helped lead UNLV to a championship in 1990 and finished his career as the school’s leader in assists and steals. With Johnson at the helm, the Rebels were nearly unbeatable, reaching the Final Four in the year after winning the championship. Only a sensational game by Duke ended the Anthony-led Rebel run. Anthony is now an analyst for ESPN after he played in the NBA for 11 seasons. [11/09/06]
