UTEP Player Gets Rough, Allegedly Assaults Girlfriend: A UTEP basketball player was arrested following a heated argument with his girlfriend that turned physical. Darren Clarke, 22, was arrested and charged with assault after a domestic violence call was made Tuesday, police said. The 6-4 junior was released Wednesday from El Paso County Jail on $2,500 bail. UTEP coach Tony Barbee said the incident is being investigated to determine whether the team will need to take disciplinary action. Clarke is averaging 10.3 points per game. [12/07/06]
