NCAA Clears Rhode Island Freshman: Freshman guard Keith Cothran has been cleared to play for Rhode Island this season after missing the Rams’ first nine games. The New Haven, Conn., native was finally cleared by the NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse after another Rhode Island freshman, center Frank Monge, was cleared last week. A third Rams freshman, Delroy James, is still awaiting a decision. [12/10/06]
