USC’s Pruitt May Soon Be Eligible to Play: Gabe Pruitt’s professors told him that he passed all his classes, and once his grades are posted, which could have happened as early as yesterday, he should be eligible to play. However, USC’s NCAA compliance officer wants to make sure that the correct date is not Dec. 22, when all students’ grades will be posted. Coach Tim Floyd is attending a meeting today to get the issue cleared up. Pruitt has missed eight games so far and was USC’s second leading scorer last season. If Pruitt can not play until Dec. 22, he will miss three more games.
Floyd also said freshman Kasey Cunningham is redshirting. Floyd added that he is not interested in former Duke player Jamal Boykin, who is looking to transfer. [12/14/06]
