Romar Honored as Developmental Coach of the Year: The 2006 USA Basketball Developmental Coach of the Year award was given to Washington men’s’ basketball coach Lorenzo Romar and DePaul women’s basketball coach Doug Bruno. Bruno and Romar led a 12-member group of elite athletes to perfect 4-0 records and gold medals at the respective 2006 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championships. The USA Basketball Executive Committee made the selections, and the committee will submit their names to the U.S. Olympic Committee as nominees for 2006 Developmental Coach of the Year award.
