Former Virginia Center Scott McCandish Dies: Former Virginia great Scott McCandish, 56, has died. He suffered from multiple sclerosis before his death. He was a three-year starter at Virginia and a member of the 1972 team that went 21-7. He ended his career with 761 rebounds, the most in the Cavaliers’ history at that time. His career 9.6 rebounds per game average is still second highest in school history. [1/04/07]
