Huskies Look for a New Home: Connecticut’s men’s and women’s basketball squads will look to obtain a new practice center given their latest difficulties in suitably fitting both teams’ scheduled practices under the Huskies’ current facilities. There have been practice-scheduling problems for both teams, who usually practice at Gampel Pavillion. That has frustrated coach Jim Calhoun, who voiced his displeasure and called for the university to provide a new training center. The school hopes to build a place that would include different facilities for men and women. Motivation for the project is abundant because of the high recognition and millions of dollars in revenue the basketball programs brings to the state. However, no timetable has been set. The Huskies just opened a $50 million training center for its football team. The basketball program expects to build something similar.
