Mike Jones Heads Back to South Carolina: Former Syracuse forward Mike Jones was admitted to South Carolina Friday and could be eligible to play by the second semester of next season. Jones, a former South Carolina high school player of the year, transferred from Syracuse because he was homesick. “I can’t tell you how happy I am to be back in Columbia and in school as a Gamecock,” said the 6-8 forward in a statement, “I know I have a lot of work ahead of me. But I look forward to the challenge and the opportunity.” Jones was averaging less than seven minutes a game. [1/21/07]
