Irish Out: Notre Dame sophomore point guard Kyle McAlarney, arrested last month for possession of marijuana, has been suspended from Notre Dame despite having entered a pretrial diversion program. The 19-year-old had continued to practice with the Fighting Irish and looked to return next season after he agreed to follow the program that would clear him of charges if he passed random drug tests and stayed out of trouble. However, Notre Dame officials have decided to keep McAlarney away from campus for at least one semester and suspended him. McAlarney averaged 10.3 points per game as a starter in the first 12 games of the seasom. [1/24/07]
