Big Sky Conference Tournament Quarterfinals: No. 3 Montana needed to work overtime to beat No. 6 Idaho State 70-63 in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Conference Tournament. Mike Chavez led the Grizzlies with 16 points, sending the team into the semifinals against No. 2 Northern Arizona. Montana won its second overtime game against Idaho State in a week. The other quarterfinal game was less exciting as No. 4 Portland State blasted No. 5 Montana State 96-71. Montana State led by a point at halftime before Portland State started shooting lights out in the second half. The Vikings shot 62.3 percent from the field for the game, and three players scored 18 points. Portland State will play No. 1 Weber State in the semifinals. [3/03/07]
