Horizon League Tournament Semifinals: No. 2 Butler survived a scare from No. 3 Loyola Chicago to win 67-66 in overtime. Junior guard A.J. Graves missed all 10 of his field goal attempts but hit all 12 of his free throw attempts, including several critical free throws in overtime. Butler overcame a tough shooting night in which the Bulldogs shot 38.5 percent from the field. Senior guard Blake Schlib was outstanding for Loyola, finishing with 29 points. The Bulldogs will play No. 1 Wright State for the Horizon championship.
Wright State knocked off No. 4 Wisconsin – Green Bay 67-51. The Raiders got 25 points from DaShaun Wood to lead the attack. Wright State established a 33-27 halftime lead and held off the Phoenix’s comeback attempt. The Raiders led by as many as 23 points in the second half before cruising to the win. [3/03/07]
