Missouri Valley Conference Championship: No. 2 Creighton assured their place in the NCAA Tournament with a 67-61 win over No. 1 Southern Illinois in the Missouri Valley Championship. After going into the locker room up 32-28 at halftime, the Bluejays (22-10) ran off seven straight early in the second half to open up an 11-point lead, and they would later boost it to 14 before the Salukis (27-6) got going for a comeback. They would eventually get within five, but it was too late. Tournament Most Outstanding Player Nate Funk led the winners with 19 points and four assists, while fellow all-tournament members Anthony Tolliver had 15 points and 13 rebounds and Nick Porter had 15 points and six assists.
