Western Athletic Conference Tournament Opening Round: No one will mistake a conference tournament game featuring two teams that have combined to win only nine games for a clash of the titans. But No. 9 Idaho won a thriller against No. 8 San Jose State 50-49 to move into the quarterfinals against No. 1 Nevada. Keoni Watson hit a floater with 1.3 seconds remaining to win it for the Vandals. Watson’s game-winner followed a tough layup with about 10 seconds remaining by Carlton Spencer, who temporarily gave San Jose State the lead. Idaho ended a 12-game losing streak with the upset.
