Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship: No. 5 North Texas ended an improbable run to the Sun Belt championship with an 83-75 win against No. 2 Arkansas State, earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The bid is the Mean Green’s first since 1988. Calvin Watson scored 24 points, hitting six three-pointers, to lead North Texas, which led throughout the second half. Arkansas State kept it close, however, pulling within two points in the final minutes. [3/06/07]
