WAC: Western Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals

Championship Week 2006
Western Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals: No. 4 Utah State upset No. 1 Nevada for the second time in a week to enter the Western Athletic Conference Tournament championship game. Chaz Spicer drained two free throws with less than three seconds remaining to break a 77-77 tie. Spicer finished with 20 points, and junior Jaycee Carroll led the Aggies with 24 points. Nick Fazekas, as usual, led the Wolf Pack with 20 points and 10 rebounds. The Aggies will play the Aggies — of No. 2 New Mexico State — for the championship.

New Mexico State ripped apart No. 6 Boise State 88-69 as Elijah Ingram scored 25 points for the Aggies. Boise State trailed 32-30 late in the first half before the Aggies ended the half with an 11-2 run. New Mexico State didn’t let the Broncos pull closer than 10 throughout the second half. The Aggies will look to defend their home court in the championship game against Utah State. [3/09/07]
