Championship Week 2006
Pac-10 Conference Tournament Semifinals: No. 4 Oregon is one game away from winning the Pac-10 championship after beating No. 8 California 81-63. The Ducks successfully ran the Golden Bears into submission as California played its third game in three days. Taj Porter led the Ducks with 24 points, and Malik Hairston scored 22 points. Oregon torched the nets, shooting 62.5 percent from the field.

Oregon will try to avoid a season sweep at the hands of No. 3 USC when the Ducks play the Trojans in the Pac-10 championship. USC beat No. 2 Washington State 70-61 in the semifinals. Gabe Pruitt scored 26 points to lead the Trojans, who were sensational from behind the three-point line, hitting 10-of-16 attempts. The Cougars were far less efficient, hitting 11 three-pointers but need 30 attempts to do so. USC was also more aggressive on offense, leading to 33 free throw attempts. [3/09/07]
