Patriot League Tournament Championship: No. 1 Holy Cross made 16 consecutive free throws in the final five minutes of the Patriot League final to beat No. 2 Bucknell 74-66 and clinch a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Bison stormed their way back from a 19-point second-half deficit to tie the game at 53 with just about five minutes left. However, Holy Cross responded with a 7-0 run to take the lead. Torey Thomas had a season-high 28 points for the Crusaders, and Patriot League Player of the Year Keith Simmons had 23 points. This was a revenge game for Holy Cross, which had lost to Bucknell in the conference tournament three years in a row, including in the last two championship games. Holy Cross snapped Bucknell’s 14 game winning streak. The Crusaders have won 18 of their last 20 games. [3/09/07]
