Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament Championship: No. 3 George Washington earned its third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament by beating No. 4 Rhode Island 78-69. Senior Carl Elliott paced the Colonials with 17 points and six rebounds, and he hit 7-of-8 free throws to help George Washington seal the victory against the Rams. Will Daniels set a new career high for Rhode Island by scoring 29 points. But the rest of the team offered little help. George Washington’s defense forced 15 turnovers in the first half while allowing only 11 field goals. [3/10/07]
