Conference USA Tournament Championship: No. 1 Memphis delivered for the bubble teams hoping that another one-bid conference wouldn’t produce a surprise champion and steal one of the available tickets to the Big Dance. The Tigers beat No. 3 Houston 71-59, handling the Cougars easily despite missing 17 free throws. Memphis ended the first half on a 15-4 to run to break a 25-25 tie and take control of the game. Sophomores Antonio Anderson and Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 17 apiece to lead Memphis, which is hoping that its 22-game winning streak will produce a No. 1 or 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
