Pitino Hires Son as Assistant: Rick Pitino has gone the route of fellow legends Bob Knight and Eddie Sutton by hiring his son, Richard Pitino, as an assistant for the Louisville Cardinals. Richard, 24, had previously been an assistant at Duquesne and Northeastern. The opening on the staff was created by the departure of assistant Kevin Willard, who took over the head job at Iona.
