Big East/SEC Invitational a Reality: The Big East and Southeastern conferences will play an invitational during the next four years, featuring four televised games on ESPN or ESPN2 over two nights at two sites. This year’s games, to be played in December, have West Virginia playing Auburn on ESPN 2 and Georgetown facing Alabama on ESPN. The next night showcases South Carolina vs. Providence on ESPN 2 and LSU taking on Villanova on ESPN. The Big East and SEC have combined to produce four of the last five NCAA men’s basketball champions. [4/13/07]
