Oregon: Kent Gets Five-Year Deal with Ducks

Kent Gets Five-Year Deal with Ducks: Oregon coach Ernie Kent received given a new five-year, $5 million contract. The deal, which runs through 2011-12, comes as a result of Oregon’s fantastic 2006-07 season. The Ducks were 29-8, won the Pac-10 Conference Tournament and advanced to the NCAA’s Elite Eight. Kent also has a 193-120 overall record in 10 years at the school. Kent, 52, will have a base salary of $800,000. He trails only Howard Hobson as Oregon’s all-time winningest coach. [4/13/07]
