Washington Standout Declares for NBA Draft: Washington star freshman Spencer Hawes will declare for the NBA draft but won’t hire an agent, allowing him – should he choose — to withdraw from the event and return to the Huskies before the June 18 deadline. The 7-foot center led the Huskies in scoring at 15 points per game despite suffering injuries and illness for part of the season. He was in this season’s Pac-10 Conference all-freshman team as his Huskies posted a 19-13 record but failed to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in four years.
