USC’s Young Leaving Early for NBA: USC’s Nick Young will forgo his senior year and enter the NBA draft to fulfill a personal dream and help out his family. The 6-6, 200-pound junior said it was a tough decision to make but that the deciding factor was his wish to help his family have a better life. Young, 21, averaged 17.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game this season, leading the Trojans to two NCAA tournament victories before falling to North Carolina in the third round. He was also selected to the All-Pac 10 first-team for the second consecutive season. Young, USC ‘s sixth all-time leading scorer, said he’s been told he’ll be a first-round pick. [4/18/07]
