Fighting Illini Lose Center to NBA Draft: Illinois junior center Shaun Pruitt, a third-team All-Big ten selection this past season, declared himself eligible for the 2007 NBA draft. The 6-10 Pruitt did not hire an agent, therefore retaining the option to withdraw from the draft before the June 18 deadline. He averaged 11.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for the Fighting Illini this season.
He was also among the conference’s leaders in field goal percentage at 54.9 percent. [5/02/07]
