Kansas’ Rush to Repair Damaged Knee: Kansas guard Brandon Rush, injured while playing in a pickup game, will undergo surgery to repair torn knee ligaments and could miss as much as six months. Rush, the Jayhawks’ leading scorer in last season’s 33-5 campaign, landed awkwardly while playing. The operation will take place later this week or next week and Kansas coach Bill Self hopes his star player can come back sooner than expected. He however said he’d work Rush carefully back into action once he’s back. The 6-6 guard had withdrawn from the NBA Draft last week. [5/30/07]
