College Basketball Hall of Fame Inducts Class of ’07: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in Kansas City, alongside Notre Dame legend Austin Carr; Dick Groat, who starred at Duke but went on to play Major League Baseball; and Tennessee A&I’s Dick Barnett, who led the team to the first ever national championship won by a historically black college or university. Coaches Lefty Dreisell, Norm Stewart, Vic Bubas and Gary Lewis were also inducted. Introduced as founding fathers were legends Phog Allen, Henry Iba, Adolph Rupp and John McClendon. [11/19/07]
