Wait Til February, Baby!: College basketball commentator Dick Vitale, famous for his contagious passion for the game and energetic style on camera, will be unavailable until February while he recovers from vocal cord surgery. Vitale had ulcers on his left vocal cord, which doctors treated today in surgery. While recovering, the loquacious Vitale is not supposed to talk for the next three weeks — a feat most college basketball fans would not believe possible. A 28-year veteran of ESPN, he expects to return to the air in February. [12/18/07]
