Fighting Irish to Go to Ireland: Notre Dame will be in Ireland Aug 13-25 to face Irish and Polish teams in the first Emerald Hoops Program, a plan to help basketball relationships between communities in the United States and Ireland. The Fighting Irish are expected to participate in a series of coaching clinics throughout Ireland. In 1996, the Notre Dame football team played Navy in Dublin, Ireland, beating them 54-27. A rematch of that game will take place in 2012.
