Southern Miss Coach Leaves Team to Be With Mother: Southern Mississippi coach Larry Eustachy flew to California and is taking an indefinite leave of absence to be with his ailing mother. Eustachy could be back for Saturday’s game with Tulane or miss more significant time. In the meantime, Southern Miss associate head coach Steve Barnes will handle coaching duties. The Golden Eagles lost their Conference USA opener to Central Florida 52-41 Tuesday.
