Vitale to Return Feb. 4: ESPN commentator Dick Vitale will return to the airwaves on the Feb. 4 “Mike & Mike” radio show after a successful surgery to treat ulcers on his left vocal cord. Vitale, who went three and a half weeks without speaking, was treated at Mass General hospital. Before undergoing the surgery, the legendary 68-year-old broadcaster had never missed an assignment for ESPN, which he joined in 1979.
