Pepperdine: Walberg Resigns at Pepperdine

Walberg Resigns at Pepperdine: Pepperdine coach Vance Walberg has resigned for personal reasons, he announced today. He leaves the team at 6-12 and 0-2 in the West Coast Conference in his second season at the helm. Walberg came to Pepperdine in 2006 from Fresno City College. This season has not progressed easily for the Waves because Walberg dismissed leading scorere Kingsley Costain for violating school rules. The university has not yet announced who will lead the team.

Update: Pepperdine has announced that assistant coach Eric Bridgeland will be the Waves’ interim coach. In seven years as a Division II and Division III coach, Bridgeland had a 115-65 record. [1/17/08]
