Interim Beavers Coach Wastes No Time: Kevin Mouton, Oregon State’s interim coach, made a bold move during his first day at the helm of the program, dismissing junior forward C.J. Giles, a transfer from Kansas. Giles had averaged six points, six rebounds, and one block per game for the Beavers. Mouton is replacing Jay John, who was fired earlier in the day after leading the team to a 6-12 record so far, including eight consecutive losses and no Pac-10 wins. [1/21/08]
