Selection Committee Gets More Time: The NCAA Tournament selection committee will convene a day earlier to give members more time to debate the selected teams and where they appear in the brackets. Chairman Tom O’Connor said the committee will also conduct several conference calls in the next few weeks to debate some of their initial selections and take care of some of the time-consuming preliminary work that usually occurs during the week leading to Selection Sunday. In addition, the committee will look at teams’ last 12 games instead of their final 10 because the NCAA added exempt games that teams can play outside the United States. [2/13/08]
