SEC Has No Comment on Controversial Ending: SEC officials have refused to comment on the controversial ending to Saturday’s Mississippi vs. Alabama game. Mississippi won 91-88, but the Crimson Tide feel that they should have potentially had one more chance to tie. After Mississippi collected a rebound with 4.5 seconds remaining, Alabama players hacked away at Dwayne Curtis, but the officials did not call a foul. The clock stopped with 2.5 seconds remaining, but the officials decided it was a clock malfunction and ruled that the game was over. Alabama wanted the foul in hopes that the Rebels would miss the free throws, giving the Crimson Tide one final shot to tie the game. Three officials will face the review committee, but the SEC refused to say if they are the three officials who worked the game Saturday. [3/04/08]
