Pac-10: Pac-10 Conference Tournament Semifinals

Championship Week 2006
Pac-10 Conference Tournament Semifinals: No. 1 UCLA will play in the Pac-10 Conference Tournament championship game Saturday after winning the rubber match with No. 4 Southern California 57-54. Freshman center Kevin Love had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Bruins. UCLA held the Trojans to one field goal in the first nine minutes of the second half during an 18-5 run that gave the UCLA the lead for good.

No. 2 Stanford will get a third shot at UCLA after handling No. 3 Washington State for a third time this season, 75-68. The Cougars did not have an answer for sophomore center Brook Lopez, who scored 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. His twin brother, Robin Lopez, added nine points and eight rebounds. Washington State stayed close by hitting 12 three-pointers, but that wasn’t enough to avoid at three-game season sweep. [3/14/08]
