Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament Championship: No. 2 Mississippi Valley State hit three free throws in the final 30 seconds to get past No. 4 Jackson State 59-58 and win the SWAC championship. Trailing 58-56, the Delta Devils got senior guard Stanford Speech to the free throw line, where he hit the first attempt but missed the second. Mississippi Valley State got the rebound, and senior swingman Carl Lucas hit two free throws with 0.4 seconds remaining to win it. Senior forward Chris Watson led the Delta Devils with 10 points.
