Big East: Big East Conference Tournament Championship

Championship Week 2006
Big East Conference Tournament Championship: No. 7 Pittsburgh picked up its fourth win in four days to claim the Big East championship against No. 1 Georgetown 74-65. Senior guard Ronald Ramon led the Panthers with 17 points, including five key free throws in the closing minutes to turn back a Hoyas rally. Pittsburgh outworked the Hoyas to collect 39 rebounds to Georgetown’s 25. The Panthers become the second Big East team to win the tournament title by playing four games in four days; Syracuse did it in 2006. [3/15/08]
