Southland Conference Tournament Championship: No. 7 Texas-Arlington completed a run through the Southland Conference Tournament with an 82-79 win against No. 5 Northwestern State. The Mavericks will make their first trip to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Southland championship as a seven seed. Junior forward Anthony Vereen led the Mavericks with 25 points and nine rebounds. Texas-Arlington held off the Demons in the final minutes, finishing 22-of-29 from the free throw line. [3/16/08]
