NCAA Tournament Is Ready to Roll: The selection committee has delivered the brackets, and March Madness is ready to roll. North Carolina is the overall No. 1 seed in the tournament, and Memphis, UCLA and Kansas join the Tar Heels as No. 1 seeds. Happy bubble teams include Saint Joseph’s, Villanova, Baylor, South Alabama, Oregon, Kentucky and Arizona. Meanwhile, coaches at Illinois State, Dayton, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Massachusetts must convince their teams to get excited about the NIT. For the most part, there’s little argument about much of the brackets. One of the most compelling future match ups could be No. 1 North Carolina vs. No. 2 Tennessee in the East regional final. But first, the next game on tap is Coppin State vs. Mount St. Mary’s in Tuesday’s play-in game. The winner will play North Carolina in Raleigh. [3/16/08]
