Bruins Might Not Have Mbah a Moute Thursday: No. 1 UCLA might play its first-round game without junior forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, who sprained his ankle in the Pac-10 Tournament and could not play for the rest of the tournament. He was in a walking boot Sunday, but coach Ben Howland said he hopes that Mbah a Moute will be able to practice today. The Bruins face No. 16 Mississippi Valley State in Anaheim.
In addition to Mbah a Moute, freshmen center Kevin Love is nursing an injury. He sprained his back in the Pac-10 championship game against Stanford and played fewer minutes because of back spasms. Howland said Love is better after the team had two days to rest, and Love will be ready to go against the Delta Devils. [3/19/08]
