No. 2 East Tennessee State earned its first Atlantic Sun championship by beating No. 1 Jacksonville 85-68. The Bucs last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2004 when they were a member of the Southern Conference. Against Jacksonville, East Tennessee State dominated early and often, building a 30-point lead midway through the second half and cruising to victory. Junior guard Mike Smith had 22 points for East Tennessee State, and senior forward Kevin Tiggs added 21.
