After dominating the Summit League all season, No. 1 North Dakota State needed a late surge to turn back No. 8 Centenary 83-77. Senior forward Brett Winkelman led the Bison with 30 points. Sophomore forward Michael Tveidt hit two free throws after the final media timeout to reclaim the lead for North Dakota State after the Gents had erased a 19-point halftime hole.
(7) South Dakota State 72, (2) Oral Roberts 69 OT
No. 7 South Dakota State beat No. 2 Oral Roberts 72-69 to ensure that the Summit League will have a new champion. The Golden Eagles won the previous three conference championships. Junior guard Garrett Callahan led the Jackrabbits with 30 points, including a three-point play with less than 20 seconds remaining to force overtime and the team’s final seven points in overtime.
