SoCon: Charleston Knocks Off Davidson

(3S) College of Charleston 59, (1S) Davidson 52

No. 3S College of Charleston just made Selection Sunday more interesting. By beating No. 1S Davidson 59-52, the Cougars advanced to the Southern Conference championship game, relegating Davidson to the bubble. Junior guard Tony White led the Cougars with 17 points, sophomore guard Andrew Goudelock scored all 12 of his points in the second half as Charleston opened the half on a 20-4 run to take the lead. Charleston will look to complete its run through the Southen Conference Tournament Monday against No. 1N Chattanooga, which the Cougars beat in the teams’ only regular-season meeting.

(1N) Chattanooga 81, (3N) Samford 70

No. 1N Chattanooga handled its business against No. 3N Samford, beating the Bulldogs 81-70 to move into the conference championship game. The Mocs completed a three-game season sweep of Furman thanks to senior guard Stephen McDowell, who scored 32 points to lead Chattanooga.
