Kent State: Golden Flashes Suspend Second-Leading Scorer

Kent State coach Geno Ford suspended junior guard Chris Singletary for one game after he received a flagrant foul in the team’s win against Akron Sunday. Singletary is second on the team with 12.1 points per game. A team press release adds a comment from the school’s athletics director:

“After reviewing the circumstances of the flagrant foul charged against Chris, coach Geno Ford and I have reached the decision to suspend him for Tuesday’s game” against Northern Illinois, said Laing Kennedy, Kent State’s Director of Athletics.

As the No. 6 seed in the Mid-American Conference Tournament, Kent State will play No. 11 Northern Illinois. The Golden Flashes beat the Huskies by three in their only regular-season meeting.
