Pac-10: Cougars and Cardinal Move Into Quarterfinals

(9) Stanford 62, (8) Oregon State 54

No. 9 Stanford had a big second half to come back to beat No. 8 Oregon State 62-54. Senior guard Anthony Goods led the Cardinal with 23 points, including 17 after halftime. Oregon State cut the lead to one with less than three minutes remaining, but the Beavers failed to hit a shot the rest of the way. Stanford will play No. 1 Washington. The Huskies won both regular-season games by a total of eight points.

(7) Washington State 62, (10) Oregon 40

No. 7 Washington State ended No. 10 Oregon’s miserable season with a 62-40 win. The Ducks finished with only eight wins on the season. Senior center Aron Baynes led the Cougars with 20 points and eight rebounds. Washington State’s defense held the Ducks to 26 percent shooting from the field. Washington State will play No. 2 UCLA, which the Cougars beat by a point in late February and lost by two to the Bruins in Los Angeles in January.
