Trailing by one in the final minute, senior guard Dwight O’Neil hit a jumper with about 20 seconds remaining to pull No. 9 Fresno State ahead of No. 8 Hawaii 59-58. The Bulldogs hit 3-of-4 free throws in the closing seconds to give Fresno State a 62-58 win. Junior forward Sylvester Seay led Fresno State with 16 points. The Bulldogs will face No. 1 Utah State next. Fresno State lost two tight games by a total of 10 points to Utah State in the regular season.
